In the history of video game crossovers there have been a few standouts: Battletoads & Double Dragon, Marvel & Capcom, Capcom & SNK, and the latest being Mario and Sonic finally together. The Mario/Sonic crossover is such a big deal because Nintendo and Sega were such bitter rivals in the console wars of the Nineties. Sonic was supposed to be the "anti-Mario" that would be Sega's answer to Nintendo's popular sidescroller. Sega was pretty successful with the Genesis, but couldn't overtake the Super Nintendo during its reign. Once Sony entered the market Sega's decline really accelerated and they ceased becoming a hardware company.
Now there's a new console war with Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. While Nintendo's mascot is still the ever-loving Italian plumber, Mario, Microsot's decided their mascot would be the silent soldier of Halo fame, Master Chief. Since the console war is still ongoing, of course, it will probably years until we see a Mario/Master Chief crossover, if ever. That is, unless someone were to program such a game on their own:

10/13/2007 - Teabag To Fitness with Master Chief
I don't know who invented it, or in which game it was started, but the standard way to taunt your first-person shooting opponent after you've killed him/her is to "teabag" them. So what is teabagging? Well, simply put, it is crouching and un-crouching directly over your opponent's lifeless body? What does that signify? Well, it's a little obscene, so I'll let you look it up in the Urban Dictionary.
Now that I'm finally the owner of an online FPS (actually, it's a third-person shooter), I can tell you how satisfying it is to teabag your opponent after an awesome kill. Sometimes, it makes you an easy target, but you won't care. Just knowing that your oppenent is seeing his/her dead player being teabagged by you is worth getting killed over. Sure, they may go for a revenge kill, but if you kill them in the process, you can teabag them again for maximum pleasure!
With the release of Halo 3, G4 TV aired a parody of a fitness show featuring Master Chief. What is the exercise being featured? Why, teabagging, of course!
You know, that actually looks like it would burn some calories!

6/16/2007 - Master Chief is an Alcoholic
Most of us have seen the infamous video of David Hasselhoff trying to eat a cheeseburger while drunk. Poor guy... he'd be the King of Cheese if it weren't for William Shatner. Hasselhoff may have Shatner's shamelessness for absurd cameos and guest spots, but he doesn't have Shatner's "gravitas" or loyal geek fanbase. He'll always have Knight Rider and Baywatch, but I don't see him having a character like Denny Crane. Can't blame the guy for wanting to be drunk...
Of course, if you have a video on YouTube that's had over two million hits, you're bound to be parodied. Behold, we have the star of the Halo video games, Master Chief acting exactly like Mr. Hasselhoff! Why do I find this so funny? I don't know... I'm definitely not a fanboy of Master Chief. I guess he is the gaming mascot for the new generation of gamers. I do like him in this video though... see, if Hasselhoff had a face shield on like Master Chief, he'd have an excuse to drop the burger.
